Today P5-P7 pupils kicked off their Term 3 World Around Us topic at Julie and Jeffery Mullan's farm in Stewartstown. Our visit marks the start of a Supply Chain Initiative agreed with ABP and the Irish Angus Society that will feature a range of activities and visits around the Agri-food sector over the coming weeks. We began our day with informative presentations from David Mulligan (Parklands) and Matthew Armstrong (Fane Valley Feeds). After lunch, the pupils carried out farm jobs, discovered which grains are found in everyday foods and discussed farm safety. The day ended with a visit to see the goat, lambs and Highland cow, Helena.

Also, many thanks to the Irish Angus Society and ABP Food Group for arranging a very hands-on learning experience, snacks and goodie bags. We are very excited for our visit to ABP Dungannon site next week, where we will be learning about the next stage in the food production process.
